Green Lantern #3
This volume collects the third story arc of the 2025 Green Lantern series, focusing on Hal Jordan as he confronts the limits of willpower against a new cosmic threat. The narrative deepens the exploration of the emotional spectrum while advancing the ongoing conflict within the Green Lantern Corps.
In "Defenses Down," Kyle Rayner awakens in an alternate timeline shaped by a twisted version of Hal Jordan—Parallax—whose actions have rewritten reality. Stranded and accused of being the source of the universe’s unraveling, Kyle must navigate a world where every hero sees him as the threat, even as he uncovers the dangerous truth that saving this timeline could risk the stability of the multiverse itself. Written by Dan Jurgens and Ron Marz, with art by Darryl Banks, Kelley Jones, Tom Grummett, Jerry Ordway, Paul Pelletier, Howard Porter, and Dan Jurgens, and colored by Alex Sinclair, this issue features a cover by Ariel Colon.
In "Defenses Down," Hal Jordan faces brutal interrogation on Gamorra as Amanda Waller presses him for the secrets of his unique Green Lantern ring, while on Oa, the rebel Lanterns prepare their next move against Lord Premier Thaaros. Meanwhile, Sinestro unleashes the fury of the Red Lantern power on New Korugar, and on Earth, Alan Scott leads the Justice Society in a fierce stand against Waller’s forces, including a relentless Amazo robot.
In "Escape from Gamorra Island," Hal Jordan fights to break free from Waller’s prison, turning the weapons of captured villains against their makers in a desperate bid for freedom. While Alan Scott nurtures the flicker of independence in Jadestone, and Carol Ferris joins the Justice Society in planning a counterstrike, the fate of the galaxy hangs in the balance as Lord Premier Thaaros on Oa pushes forward with his grand designs.
In "The Shadow Lanterns," newly minted Green Lantern Shynt D'Proba uncovers a chilling truth: the Corps has been infiltrated by Lord Premier Thaaros, who has replaced loyal Guardians with puppets and silenced dissenters. As Shynt grapples with the weight of their oath, they must decide how far they’ll go to restore the Corps’ true light.
In "Dogfight," Hal and Wally push through a barricaded Hall of Justice, only to face off against the relentless Major Force in a high-stakes clash for access to Hal’s power battery. Meanwhile, Alan works to break through Jadestone’s programming, hoping to turn the tide against Waller’s forces, while Carol confronts her past when she meets her ex-fiance—now transformed into the sorrow-driven meta-powered Sorrow.
In "Options," the Amazo construct Jadestone, newly empowered by siphoning Alan Scott, the Justice Society, and Star Sapphire, begins to unravel as the stolen energy fractures his programming. With the heroes scattered and on the run, Jadestone heads to the Oblivion Bar in search of the Tower of Fate’s location, while Steve Trevor slips into Amanda Waller’s hidden prison to rescue heroes she’s locked away.
In "null," Kyle Rayner wakes to a world where Hal Jordan is a tyrant known as Parallax, and the heroes he once trusted see him as the source of their unraveling. As he tries to uncover how this timeline was forged and why he’s blamed for its collapse, Kyle faces a chilling truth: saving this reality might cost the stability of the multiverse itself.
