Mariko Tamaki
Mariko Tamaki is a Canadian writer and artist, born in 1975. She is best known for her acclaimed graphic novels for young adults, including *Skim*, *This One Summer*, *Laura Dean Keeps Breaking Up With Me*, and *Emiko Superstar*. Her work often explores the emotional lives of teenagers with nuance and empathy. In 2016, she began writing for both Marvel and DC Comics, becoming a prominent voice in mainstream superhero comics. She has twice been named a runner-up for the Michael L. Printz Award for excellence in young adult literature.
