Crush & Lobo #3
In "Assessment: Painful Childhood or Whatever," Crush finally confronts her father, the infamous Lobo, face-to-face inside a space-penitentiary, hoping for a breakthrough in their fractured relationship—though given Lobo’s track record, expectations are low. Meanwhile, a bizarre alien father-son duo with a disturbing habit share a visitation that’s as unsettling as it is oddly tender. Written by Mariko Tamaki and illustrated by Amancay Nahuelpan, with coloring by Tamra Bonvillain and letters by Ariana Maher, this issue’s cover by Bernard Chang captures the series’ signature mix of dark humor and emotional weight.

After an eventful trip to the space-penitentiary, Crush at last speaks with inmate 2981, aka Lobo, face-to-face, hoping to finally connect with her therapy-modified father, but things do not go as expected. With Lobo, do they ever? Also, in another inmate and offspring visitation, a father and son pair of aliens that eat the heads of their relatives (and any others that might happen to be around) have a "meaningful meeting".
