Crush & Lobo #6
In "Space Vegas Sunrise," Crush races against the clock—50 Earth-hours to recapture the chaotic Lobo or face a deadly detonation—tracking her through the neon-drenched excess of Space Vegas. There, a heartfelt misstep with Q&&7, a lonely alien who thinks Crush is their blind date, stirs up bittersweet memories of a past romance, leaving her with a quiet ache amid the chaos. With only 24 hours left and a new lead in hand, the hunt intensifies. Written by Mariko Tamaki and illustrated by Amancay Nahuelpan, with colors by Tamra Bonvillain and Nick Filardi, and lettering by Ariana Maher, the issue’s cover by Nick Robles captures the surreal, glittering tension of the setting.

Given 50 Earth-hours by the Space-Penitentiary to return Lobo to prison or an attached device will blow her to atoms, Crush follows Lobo’s trail of debauchery and destruction to Space Vegas. There, she meets Q&&7, a nice but lonely alien who mistakes Crush for a blind date. Taken with Q&&7’s sincerity (amid flashbacks to her failed relationship with former girlfriend Katie), she goes along with the date but manages to mess things up with her impulsive nature. Q&&7 exits, leaving Crush with a feeling of “relationship déjà vu”. Crush gets a firm lead on Lobo’s whereabouts, with 24 hours left.
