About this Collection

This volume collects Detective Comics issues #19-24 and Annual #2 from The New 52 era, featuring the debut of a new villain called The Wrath—a dark mirror of Batman—as well as a story involving the mysterious organization known as the 99 Demons, with writer John Layman and artist Jason Fabok at the helm.

In "The Seven, Part One," Batman uncovers a chilling conspiracy where ordinary citizens—like Caroline—are being manipulated by a shadowy force into committing new crimes, all tied to past sins they thought were buried. With the Riddler’s fingerprints all over the scheme, and familiar faces lurking in the shadows, Batman must piece together a puzzle where guilt is the weapon and justice is the target. Written by Mariko Tamaki and Nadia Shammas, with dynamic art by Ivan Reis and Danny Miki, and colors by Brad Anderson, this issue’s cover by Reis and Miki captures the tension perfectly.
