About this Collection

This omnibus collects the second half of the New 52 Detective Comics run, featuring Batman's battles against a rogues' gallery of classic and new foes. Written by John Layman and Francis Manapul, with art from a rotating team of illustrators, the volume includes the 'Emperor Penguin' and 'Gothtopia' story arcs. It compiles issues #30–52 and Detective Comics: Endgame #1, showcasing a darker, more detective-focused side of the Dark Knight's adventures in Gotham City.

In "The Weekender," Bruce Wayne faces a crisis of identity when he’s arrested in connection with the murders of Sarah Worth and Lydia Warren, forcing him to confront the consequences of his dual life while Oracle fights to prove his innocence. With a mysterious inmate revealing he knows Bruce’s secret and the Penguin teaming up with Roland Worth for revenge, the stakes rise in a tense, character-driven tale from Mariko Tamaki and Dan Mora, whose bold art and moody colors bring a gritty edge to Gotham’s shadows. The cover by Dan Mora captures the weight of the moment with striking precision.
