Who is Lockheed?

Lockheed is a small alien dragon who first encountered Kitty Pryde during an X-Men mission in the Brood's alien realm, where the two formed an instant bond. He followed her back to Earth, becoming her devoted companion and a surprising but formidable ally to the X-Men.

Few Marvel characters have earned their place in comics history quite like Lockheed — the small but mighty figure who first soared onto the scene in The Uncanny X-Men #153 in 1982, courtesy of the legendary Bronze Age team of Chris Claremont, Dave Cockrum, and Josef Rubinstein. A proud member of the X-Men, Lockheed has shared countless adventures alongside icons like Kitty Pryde, Wolverine, and Nightcrawler across landmark series including Excalibur, Marauders, and The Uncanny X-Men itself. With 281 catalogued appearances spanning an remarkable 43 years — 14 of them recognized as collector-significant key issues — this is a character whose staying power speaks for itself. If you've ever wondered why fans light up at the mention of this pint-sized Marvel, diving into that back catalogue will answer the question beautifully.
