The battle between the X-Men and the F.F. rages on with Reed still refusing to help the dying Kitty Pryde. Doctor Doom shows up and offers to do what Reed will not, thus ending the hostilities. Back at the Baxter Building, Sue shares Reed's old journal with the rest of the team where it appears that Reed knew all along that their space flight would turn them into super-powered freaks. The X-Men decide to take Doom up on his offer.
