“Survivors”

"Survivors" kicks off a high-stakes team-up in X-Men / Alpha Flight #1 (1998), a pivotal issue where Cody’s well-intentioned move to fund Alpha Flight backfires when he unknowingly sells Mac’s power suit design to Hydra. With Kitty and Colossus taken during a date—and the entire X-Men suddenly missing—Alpha Flight must step in to rescue their allies, setting off a tense, action-packed mission that tests their limits. Written by Ben Raab and John Cassaday, with art and inks by Cassaday and cover by Cassaday, this issue blends personal stakes with larger conspiracy, all rendered in bold, dynamic style.

Cody sells the design for Mac's power suit to fund the Alpha Flight program, not realizing he is selling it to Hydra. On their first date, Kitty and Colossus are abducted, along with the rest of the X-Men, by Hydra and Strucker as vengeance for Xavier's interfering in the good Baron's plans in the past. Alpha Flight is called in to the rescue.
