Kilowog

Who is Kilowog?

A brilliant geneticist from the communal-minded planet Bolovaxx, Kilowog was recruited into the Green Lantern Corps, where his immense physical power and sharp intellect made him the Corps' legendary drill instructor, responsible for training generations of new Green Lantern recruits.

Few characters in the DC universe have carved out as distinctive and beloved a niche as Kilowog, who burst onto the scene in Green Lantern #201 in 1986, courtesy of Steve Englehart and Joe Staton. A fixture of the Copper and Modern Ages, this big-hearted powerhouse has been a cornerstone of Green Lantern mythology for nearly four decades, racking up 130 catalog appearances and four collector-significant key issues along the way. Whether headlining Green Lantern Corps or sharing the cosmic stage with Hal Jordan, John Stewart, Guy Gardner, Arisia, and even The Flash, Kilowog has proven himself an enduring presence at the heart of DC's most intergalactic corner. From his debut through to 2025, he's the kind of character who reminds you why you fell in love with superhero comics in the first place — irreplaceable, iconic, and absolutely worth hunting down.
