Adventures of Superman #488

Part three of DC's sweeping 1992 "Panic in the Sky!" crossover event, this issue promises answers — the cover itself teases "Find out why we call it Warworld!" Superman surges front and center in a breathtaking battle scene by cover penciler Tom Grummett and inker Jerry Ordway, fist raised against a monstrous green alien threat while an extraordinary assembly of DC heroes — including figures recognizable as Supergirl, Green Lantern, Firestorm, and The Flash among others — clash in a massive outer-space melee. It's a wonderfully chaotic image that captures the epic scale Ordway, Grummett, and Hazlewood bring to the interior pages as well.
