Superman #14

Part of DC's 1988 Millennium crossover event (Week 6), this issue promises cosmic-scale adventure with its tagline "Beyond the Void by Lantern's Light!" — and the cover delivers, showing Superman and Green Lantern hurtling together through an otherworldly expanse of luminous, geometric spheres. John Byrne both penciled and inked the cover, capturing the two heroes in dynamic motion against that kaleidoscopic backdrop with clean, energetic linework. With the interior story titled "Last Stand!" and Byrne and Karl Kesel at the helm, this is a fine snapshot of late-'80s DC storytelling at its most ambitious.
