Who is Hank Hall?

Hank Hall and his brother Don were granted powers by the Lords of Order and Chaos, transforming Hank into the aggressive, superhumanly strong and durable Hawk whenever danger arose. Alongside Don as Dove, he became one half of the iconic DC duo Hawk and Dove.

Born in the turbulent late 1960s, Hank Hall burst onto the Silver Age DC scene in Showcase #75 β€” a debut crafted by the legendary Steve Ditko and Steve Skeates that immediately announced him as a figure of raw, combative energy. Over a remarkable span stretching from 1968 all the way to 2025, he's proven one of DC's most enduring and volatile presences, racking up appearances alongside heavy-hitters like Batman, Green Lantern, Hawk, Dove, and Dawn Granger. Most at home in Hawk and Dove and Titans United, with a notable stint in Guy Gardner: Warrior, Hank is a character whose longevity speaks for itself β€” two key collector issues and nearly six decades of relevance don't happen by accident. If you want a DC character who's never been comfortable, never been quiet, and never been forgotten, Hank Hall is absolutely worth your attention.
