Hawk and Dove #16
☆ Be the first to review + Add to your collection — Join freeThe title says it all — this September 1990 issue pits Hawk and Dove against each other, and the cover by Greg Guler (pencils) and Karl Kesel (inks) makes the tension instantly vivid: Dove in white faces off against a snarling Hawk in red across a chaotic battlefield, while a yellow-costumed figure with wild white hair clashes in the foreground with a fur-collared, blue-booted brawler armed with what looks like a blade. The "vs." slashed into the logo sets the combative mood perfectly, with smoke, explosions, and energy blasts filling every corner of the composition. With Barbara and Karl Kesel on the script and Greg Guler on interiors, "Forces of Nature" looks like a genuinely charged installment of this underrated DC series.
