“Girls' Night Out”

Four Female Furies from Apokolips descend on Earth in this February 1991 issue, and the cover by Steve Erwin and Karl Kesel throws Hawk and Dove right into the chaos — Dove locked in a burst of combat at center, Hawk pushing forward in full armor, while the Furies surround them from every angle, one firing an energy blast, another wielding a weapon overhead, and a smaller figure in a blue dress caught in the fray. The cover copy quips "And you thought we wouldn't have any fun!" — a wry promise that this particular "Ladies' Night Out" is anything but a quiet evening. It's a fun, kinetic clash that makes a strong case for why this underrated DC series deserved every fan it had.
