About the series
Jack of Fables (2006–2011, DC) follows the roguish, immortal trickster from the Fables universe as he is captured and imprisoned in a mysterious, mundane American town, then later strikes out on his own adventures across a world where stories are currency and power. Written primarily by Bill Willingham and Matthew Sturges, with art by Tony Akins, Russ Braun, and Jim Fern, the series expands the Fables mythos with a lighter, more irreverent tone, exploring the consequences of a legendary liar trying to escape his own narrative. Its 50-issue run matters for deepening the shared universe while giving its charmingly amoral antihero a standalone saga of wit, danger, and self-discovery.
