Stjepan Šejić was born on 27 November 1981 in Croatia, and has established himself as one of the more versatile creator-for-hire talents working in American comics over the past two decades. Equally comfortable writing, drawing, coloring, inking, and lettering, he has contributed to an unusually broad range of titles since his professional debut around 2006.
Cyberforce #0 (2006)
He came to wider attention through his extended runs on Top Cow properties, particularly Witchblade, Aphrodite IX, and The Darkness, where his polished, painterly digital artwork gave those long-running superhero-fantasy titles a distinctly contemporary visual identity. That same facility with rendered color and expressive figure work carried over when he moved to DC, most notably on Aquaman and his graphic novel Harleen — a psychologically grounded reimagining of Harley Quinn's origin that demonstrated his ambitions as a writer as well as an artist.
Witchblade #107 (2006)
Outside mainstream superhero publishing, Šejić created Sunstone, a character-driven romance story exploring BDSM relationships with warmth and humor. Originally self-published online, it found a substantial readership and was later collected in print, signaling that his voice was equally effective outside corporate franchise work.
Battlestar Galactica Zarek #3 (2007)
Across more than 150 credited issues spanning two decades — including Battlestar Galactica: Season Zero and Seven Days — he has maintained a rare all-around production capability that few contemporaries match.
