Rat Queens #11

Aug 2015 · Image · 3.99 USD

Rat Queens #11 (2015) delivers a breakneck blend of dark humor and escalating stakes, following the Rat Queens as they escape a goblin feast and trek to Dunlas, a once-thriving arcane university now eerily abandoned. With the team fractured and danger lurking in the shadows—especially after Betty is attacked by a cloaked halfing—tensions rise as they seek answers about Hannah’s missing father. Written by Kurtis J. Wiebe and illustrated by Tess Fowler, with colors by Tamra Bonvillain and letters by Ed Brisson, the issue builds suspense with sharp pacing and vivid character moments, all under Stjepan Šejić’s striking cover art.

Opens with Gerard, an elf, in front of a university's council when an uprising ensues. Meanwhile, the Rat Queens are locked in cages on a frozen mountain top being prepared to be dinner for a goblin hoard. After eating Betty's poisoned candy, the Rat Queens escape the goblins, and continue their quest to find Hannah's father. They arrive in Dunlas, an arcane university town, only to discover it is mostly deserted. After running into an old friend, Polle, Hannah and the Rat Queens turn in for the night while Betty gets attacked by a cloaked halfing in her sleep.
