Aquaman Rebirth #3
Aquaman Rebirth #3 (2014) features Aquaman navigating the depths of a mysterious underwater realm, with Dan Abnett scripting the story and Stjepan Šejić handling art, inks, and colors. The issue's cover, also by Šejić, captures the dark, aquatic atmosphere of the tale.
In the shadowed depths of Atlantis, with Arthur presumed dead and Corum Rath ruling with an iron grip, the Ninth Tride burns under the weight of crime and fear. A mysterious figure emerges from the darkness to challenge the gangs terrorizing the streets, while beneath it all, Vulko schemes in secret and Mera finds solace in Tula’s quiet strength. In *Underworld chapitre 1*, the fractured world of Atlantis stirs with resistance, and the cost of survival begins to rise.
In "Underworld chapitre 2," Aquaman and Dolphin race through the depths, evading Drift soldiers hunting mutants on Corum Rath’s orders. With Mera pushing her powers to the limit to break through the Crown of Thorns surrounding Atlantis, Murk presses Vulko for answers, while Dolphin guides Arthur to a hidden sanctuary. Krush, tracking the fugitives, sees a chance when he spots Arthur—believed dead—among the rebels.
In "Underworld chapitre 3," Arthur and Dolphin are imprisoned by the ruthless Krush, who intends to exploit Arthur’s royal blood to strengthen his hold over Corum Rath’s forces. With Arthur’s fate hanging in the balance, Vulko evades Rath’s hunters and forms an unexpected alliance in his mission to reclaim the throne, while Mera journeys to Titans Tower seeking Garth’s help to break through the Crown of Thorns and reach Atlantis.
In "Underworld chapitre 4," Arthur and Dolphin flee from Krush, pursued by the relentless Kadaver as they push toward the Atlantean treasury. Meanwhile, Vulko and Ondine navigate the haunted catacombs, facing the spectral guardians of Atlantis’s fallen rulers, while Garth and Mera fight to breach the formidable Crown of Thorns and reclaim the heart of their kingdom.
In "Underworld chapitre 5," Aquaman wrestles with doubt as he explains to Dolphin why he can't reclaim his throne, yet her belief in him reignites his purpose. While Vulko and Ondine press on toward the Atlantean treasury in search of a fabled artifact to weaken the Crown of Thorns, Mera and Tempest face relentless resistance from Corum Rath’s Silent School as they fight to breach the barrier surrounding Atlantis.
In "Underworld Conclusion," Jurok Byss leads the Undercurrent in a desperate bid to overthrow King Rath, only to be rescued by Aquaman—whom they thought dead. With Aquaman and Dolphin now joining the resistance, tensions rise as Mera battles the Crown of Thorns to reach Atlantis, weakened by its magic, while King Shark eyes the power vacuum left by Krush’s disappearance. Rath, enraged by the growing rebellion, vows to crush every threat to his rule.
