Aquaman #30
In "Atlantis Uprising," Aquaman #30 (2018) delivers a pivotal moment as the long-missing hero is pulled back into the fight when Jurok Byss and the Undercurrent—believing him dead—launch a desperate mission that ends in his rescue. With the resistance now rallying around him and Dolphin stepping in as an ally, Aquaman must navigate a fractured Atlantis while Mera pushes through the deadly Crown of Thorns, weakened by its magic, and King Shark eyes the power vacuum left by Krush’s disappearance. Written by Dan Abnett and illustrated in full by Stjepan Šejić—whose dynamic art defines the issue’s intensity—this standout entry in the series finds the sea king at a crossroads, with rising unrest and personal stakes converging beneath the waves. The cover by Šejić captures the storm brewing beneath the surface.
