Mike Parobeck
Mike Parobeck was an American comics artist celebrated for his work on *The Batman Adventures*, the comic book tie-in to the acclaimed *Batman: The Animated Series*. He was born Michael J. Parobeck on July 7, 1965, and died on July 2, 1996. Parobeck entered comics in the late 1980s, bringing a fluid, animation-inspired style that paired clean, clear layouts with a lively sense of motion—an ideal match for the animated world of Gotham City. His most recognized work appeared on *The Batman Adventures* and *Batman Magazine*, where his crisp, expressive figures and dynamic storytelling defined the book’s look. He also contributed to *El Diablo*, *The Fly*, and *Justice Society of America*, often collaborating with writers such as Kelley Puckett and Ty Templeton. Parobeck co-created the character of the El Diablo with writer Gerard Jones. His career was cut short by his sudden death at age 30, but his influence on the visual language of licensed superhero comics remains strong. Parobeck received an Eisner Award for Best Single Issue for his work on *The Batman Adventures* #1.
