The Fly #1

The cover by Mike Parobeck and Paul Fricke makes an immediate impression: the Fly in his bold blue-and-gold costume dives headlong toward the reader through a dizzying urban canyon of skyscrapers, with a second, smaller figure visible soaring in the upper background. A starburst proclaims "The Impact Era Begins Here!" — and issue #1 of Impact Comics' 1991 launch certainly delivers on that promise with story "Forged in Fire," written by Len Strazewski and illustrated by Mike Parobeck. If you have any fondness for superhero action with clean, energetic linework, this is a fine place to start.
