Frank Borth
Frank Borth was an American comic book artist, born Frank M. Borth III on April 1, 1918, and active in the industry from 1941 until his death on August 9, 2009. He is best known for his long-running work on *Treasure Chest of Fun and Fact*, a Catholic-oriented educational comic that he contributed to as artist, colorist, inker, letterer, and writer across many issues. Earlier in his career, Borth drew for a range of wartime and superhero titles, including *Feature Comics*, *Captain America Comics*, *Capt. Battle Comics*, *Captain Fleet*, and *Captain Battle*. His style was clean, narrative-driven, and well-suited to both adventure stories and the more instructional tone of *Treasure Chest*. Over his decades in the field, he was credited on 68 issues. Borth’s legacy rests largely on his versatility and steady output during the Golden Age and beyond, though he never achieved the fame of his more flamboyant contemporaries. He received no major awards widely recorded in the source material, but his work remains a staple for collectors of vintage educational and patriotic comics.
