Adi Granov

Adi Granov was born in 1977 in Bosnia. A Bosnian-American comic book artist and conceptual designer, he is best known for his painted work at Marvel Comics, particularly on Iron Man. His most celebrated contribution is illustrating the story arc *Iron Man: Extremis*, which redefined the character for a modern audience. That work caught the eye of director Jon Favreau, who personally selected Granov to create concept and keyframe artwork for the 2008 *Iron Man* film. Granov went on to do concept work for *The Avengers* and *The Amazing Spider-Man 2*, as well as packaging design for related DVDs and toys, and design work for video games.

His painted style—rich with realistic textures, dramatic lighting, and a cinematic sense of movement—became a hallmark of Marvel’s early 2000s output. He has also contributed to *Fantastic Four Adventures*, *Captain America: Living Legend*, and *Giant-Size X-Men: Tribute to Wein & Cockrum*. Over a career spanning from 2003 to 2026, he has been credited as artist, colorist, inker, or writer on 96 issues. Granov’s influence extends beyond the page: his designs helped bridge comics and film, shaping the visual identity of the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s armored hero.
