In this 2013 limited series from writer Andy Diggle, Adi Granov's cover art presents a tense, atmospheric image of Captain America crouched low in a snow-swept forest, shield raised and expression steeled — drops of blood visible in the white at his feet suggesting the fight has already found him. The wintry isolation and the soldier's quiet readiness give the image a grounded, almost noir quality that sets this series apart from straightforward superhero fare. Agustin Alessio handles the interior art, and if his painted cover sensibility carries inside, readers are in for something visually striking.
