Jonas
Jonas — later known as the Vision — is a synthezoid accidentally created when Iron Lad's neurokinetic armor merged with the original Vision's operating system. Inheriting the classic Vision's density-manipulation, flight, and solar-energy abilities within a new android body, he joined the Young Avengers.
Few characters debut with the weight of Marvel history behind them the way Jonas does — stepping onto the scene in Young Avengers #7 in 2005, courtesy of writers and artists Allan Heinberg and Andrea DiVito, right at the heart of the Modern Age's most ambitious era of Avengers storytelling. Over two decades and 103 catalogued appearances, Jonas has carved out a genuine presence across landmark titles like Avengers: The Children's Crusade and The Mighty Avengers, with five of those appearances earning key-issue recognition — the kind of milestone that makes collectors sit up straight. The company Jonas keeps is remarkable: sharing pages with Captain America, Spider-Man, Kate Bishop, and Cassandra Lang (Stature) speaks to a character woven into the very fabric of Marvel's most consequential storylines. Whether you're a longtime Avengers devotee or just discovering the rich Modern Age tapestry, Jonas is exactly the kind of figure whose history rewards deeper digging.
