Tied to Marvel's 2008 Secret Invasion crossover event, this issue plants the Thunderbolts squarely in the middle of an alien-infested warzone. Billy Tan's cover delivers a striking tableau of barely-contained chaos — Venom lunges forward with fang-filled menace, Bullseye charges blade in hand with a wild grin, a gun-toting soldier stands ready above the fray, and green-skinned Skrulls press in from every angle against a smoldering, rubble-strewn backdrop. With Christos Gage writing and Fernando Blanco on interior art, it's a fittingly intense chapter for a team of villains being asked to save the world whether they want to or not.
