“Mr. Parker Goes to Washington: Part One of Three”

In "Mr. Parker Goes to Washington: Part One of Three," Peter Parker faces an impossible choice when Mephisto offers to save Aunt May’s life—on the condition that Peter live in a world where he and Mary Jane never married. Written by J. Michael Straczynski and Joe Quesada, with art by Joe Quesada and inks by Danny Miki, this pivotal issue dives into the emotional weight of alternate realities, as Peter wakes to a changed life where memories of their past together feel both familiar and distant. The cover by Joe Quesada and Danny Miki captures the quiet tension of a world reshaped, where even the smallest moments carry the echo of what was lost.

Mephisto agrees to save Aunt May's life and cause the world to forget Spider-Man's secret identity if he is willing to live in a world where he and Mary Jane never got married. With twenty-four hours to decide, Peter and Mary Jane finally decide to take the deal. Mephisto shows the Parkers their unborn daughter who would have been born if the two had stayed together. The world goes black. Peter wakes up in house with Aunt May making breakfast downstairs. He heads off to a party but things seem a little chilly between Peter Parker and Mary Jane Watson. New and old friends toast a brand new day.
