About the series
A revival of Will Eisner's legendary newspaper strip, this 1980s series from Kitchen Sink Press collected classic Spirit adventures alongside new stories by Eisner and a roster of talented guests. The run reintroduced readers to masked detective Denny Colt and his supporting cast—including Ebony White, the femme fatale P'Gell, and Ellen Dolan—while expanding the gritty, cinematic world of Central City. With contributions from frequent writers like Tom Heintjes and Jules Feiffer, and artists such as John Spranger and Al Wenzel, this series cemented The Spirit's influence on modern comics.
