This anthology issue contains three Spirit stories by Will Eisner. "Dulcet Tone" features a mysterious woman emerging from the unknown who captivates a man with her singing voice before the Spirit intervenes in what appears to be a courtroom drama. "The Octopus" and "The Spirit of Manitou" are also included, along with "Flatfoot Burns and Jonesy," a comedic story in which two bumbling characters attempt to hide a body in a barrel and deal with mobsters while trying to prevent the discovery of a murder. The Spirit confronts criminals and mysterious forces across these interconnected tales of crime and intrigue.
