The Spirit #19

This anthology issue contains three complete Spirit stories by Will Eisner. "The Case of the Balky Buzzard" involves Mr. Carrion, an arch criminal whose pet Julia engages in a vicious racket involving a World War II relic and trafficking in broken hopes. In another story, the Spirit confronts criminals holed up in a house, leading to a police siege where officers surround the building and attempt to capture the suspects inside. "Carrion's Rock" follows Doctor Scalpel and Julia on a remote island where they discover gold veins and plot to exploit the discovery, but the Spirit intervenes in their scheme.
