Dan DiDio
Dan DiDio was born on October 13, 1959. He is best known as the co-publisher of DC Comics alongside Jim Lee from 2010 to 2020, a tenure that saw him shape the company’s direction during a transformative era. Before comics, DiDio worked in television, but his impact on the DC Universe began in earnest in the early 2000s. As a writer, he is most associated with titles like *The Outsiders*, *Sideways*, *Metal Men*, *Infinity Man and the Forever People*, *O.M.A.C.*, and *The Phantom Stranger*. His editorial and creative hand was felt across many of DC’s major events and line-wide initiatives. In 2003, *Wizard* magazine named him its first-ever "Man of the Year" for his work revitalizing the DC Universe line. DiDio often collaborated with artists such as Keith Giffen and Justiniano on various projects. He co-created characters and concepts that expanded DC’s mythos, particularly through the New 52 relaunch. After leaving DC in 2020, he continued writing for the industry. His legacy is that of a hands-on executive and writer who helped steer DC Comics through a period of significant change, leaving a clear imprint on its publishing strategy and character roster.
