Few comics have the self-awareness to slap "Gratuitous Bat-Appearance!" across their cover — and then deliver exactly that via a cape-wearing cow that looks the Forever People dead in the eye and says "Moo?" It's a delightfully absurd image from cover artists Howard Porter, with the group of young New Gods tensed and wide-eyed as if this bovine Batman stand-in is a genuine cosmic threat. DiDio, Giffen, Koblish, and Hi-Fi's 2014 New 52 series clearly isn't afraid to have fun, and "Milk Run" promises to be one of the more cheerfully strange entries in the run.
