Part of DC's 2018 "New Age of Heroes" initiative, this second issue of Sideways delivers a cover that makes an immediate impression: the blue-suited hero clings to a metal bar high above a sprawling cityscape, dwarfed by a colossal mechanical face — gears visible within its skull, one eye glowing an eerie blue — that looms like a titan over the skyline. Kenneth Rocafort's cover art captures a vivid sense of scale and precariousness, pairing the lone figure's vulnerability against something vast and unknowable. With Dan DiDio and Justin Jordan writing and Rocafort's kinetic linework carrying through to the interior, this issue — titled "Ouch" — promises a sophomore chapter with some real teeth.
