Detective Hopkins arrives after an explosion decimates the Dark Star Sciences building, and finds Derek who tells him how Dominus and Portefoy had captured him to steal his rift powers which they use to open a portal to the Dark Multiverse. Unfortunately, the portal they opened led to the Inverse breaking through to reach Earth, but Derek is able to stop them with help from Tempus Fuginaut. After the battle Derek returns home where his step-father makes a surprise announcement.
