Campbell "Cam" Kennedy, born in Scotland in 1944, has built one of the more quietly distinguished careers in British comics over more than five decades. His path into the medium led him first through Commando, the long-running British war comics anthology, where he developed the tight, expressive linework that would define his mature style. That grounding in action-driven sequential storytelling proved ideal preparation for his most celebrated work at 2000 AD, where he became a key artistic voice on both Judge Dredd and Rogue Trooper — two of the weekly anthology's flagship series.

Kennedy's draftsmanship is characterized by muscular figures, dynamic compositions, and a confident handling of light and shadow that suits the gritty, dystopian worlds those titles inhabit. His output extended internationally as well, with credits on Star Wars: Dark Empire (known in Polish markets as Mroczne Imperium), bringing his visceral visual sensibility to one of comics' most recognizable licensed properties. He has also contributed substantially to the Judge Dredd Megazine and the Scandinavian Kamp-serien, demonstrating a range across different markets and readerships. With credits spanning artist, inker, and colorist roles across more than 160 issues and an active career stretching from 1968 into the 2020s, Kennedy's longevity alone marks him as one of the more durable figures in European genre comics.
