Part of DC's twelve-issue future-shocker series, Outcasts #6 (March 1988) delivers a genuinely unsettling cover by Cam Kennedy: a gaunt, grimacing figure in a suit holds a flaming, writhing body aloft amid a wall of fire, while a costumed figure watches from a fire escape in the background and a discarded gun lies on the ground below. The tagline "Big City Is Hot Tonight!" says it all — this is urban tension cranked up to a scorching pitch. Wagner, Grant, Kennedy, and Montano were clearly not pulling any punches with this mid-series installment.
