“Where Angels Fear to Tread”

Two issues from the finish line of DC's twelve-issue future shocker, Outcasts #10 charges forward with a cover by Cam Kennedy that puts three hard-edged figures front and center — a massively built bald man in red trousers leading the charge, flanked by a cybernetically enhanced companion and a helmeted ally, all striding through a grimy dystopian street bristling with warning signs reading "Cyanide Dogs" and "Poison Hivey." A motorcyclist leaps across rooftops in the background, and a crowd of armored figures fills the street behind them, selling the sense of a world where danger is just another part of the scenery. Wagner, Grant, Kennedy, and Montano kept this series consistently grounded and visually inventive, and this penultimate stretch of the run looks to be no exception.
