Issue seven of DC's twelve-part future-shocker series lands with a cover that stops you cold: a figure in a red jacket and purple pants sprawls spread-eagled across a giant newspaper front page, blood spattering the coat, beneath the blaring headline "TERRORIST KAINE SALINGER GUNNED DOWN." Cam Kennedy's stark, graphic composition makes the newsprint itself feel like the scene of the crime, folding tabloid drama directly into the visual storytelling. Wagner, Grant, and Kennedy are firing on all cylinders at the series' midpoint, and "Live on the Freak Show!" promises the kind of gritty 1988 dystopian tension this series does so well.
