Bob Harras
Bob Harras, born January 11, 1959, is an American comics writer and editor best known for his two stints as editor-in-chief: first at Marvel Comics from 1995 to 2000, and later at DC Comics from 2010 to 2020. He entered the industry in the mid-1980s, quickly establishing himself as a writer on *The Avengers* and *Nick Fury, Agent of S.H.I.E.L.D.*, where he developed a reputation for dense, espionage-tinged superhero narratives. His signature work often involved long-form plotting and intricate character dynamics, particularly on *Namor, the Sub-Mariner* and the miniseries *Nick Fury vs. S.H.I.E.L.D.*. At Marvel, he oversaw the line during a turbulent period of corporate restructuring, while at DC he guided the publisher through the New 52 era and beyond. Harras also co-created the series *Breach* and contributed to *JLA*. His editorial leadership shaped the output of both major companies for nearly two decades, and he remained active as a writer into the 2020s. He has received industry recognition for his editorial work, though specific awards are not recorded in available sources.
