Four of the space faring Avengers attempt to rescue the crew of the Starcore, a space station destroyed by a solar flare. They witness a Shi'ar fleet using a wormhole nearby which negatively affects the sun. The Shi'ar try to destroy them but the Avengers turn the tables. Cap splits the Avengers into three teams, one to talk to the Kree, one to the Shi'ar and one to remain on earth. Hawkeye becomes Goliath so he is powerful enough to go with Cap's team.
