Nick Fury vs. S.H.I.E.L.D. #1
"Book One: The Delta Equation" kicks off a high-stakes conspiracy in Nick Fury vs. S.H.I.E.L.D. #1 (1988), where the legendary agent leads a mission to stabilize a crashed Helicarrier's nuclear core—only to be ambushed by a coalition of AIM and HYDRA forces. Written by Bob Harras and illustrated by Paul Neary, with inks by Kim DeMulder and colors by Bernie Jaye, the story unfolds as Fury uncovers a deeper betrayal: Roxxon's shadowy role in the attack, and the shocking truth that S.H.I.E.L.D. itself has been compromised from within. With the agency now hunting him, Fury must outmaneuver the very organization he helped build, all while the cover by Jim Steranko captures the tension with its sharp, cinematic flair.
