Who is Tin?

Tin is one of the original Metal Men, a team of robots created by scientist Dr. Will Magnus. Built from tin and animated by a Responsometer device that grants him a distinct personality, the meek and self-doubting Tin first appeared alongside his teammates in Showcase #37.

Few characters embody the Silver Age spirit of DC Comics quite like Tin, who first stepped onto the page in Tales of the Unexpected #70 in 1962, courtesy of Jack Schiff and Win Mortimer. A fixture of the beloved Metal Men series, Tin has kept extraordinary company across the decades β€” sharing adventures with Superman, Batman, The Flash, and Platinum among others β€” a roster that speaks to just how deeply embedded this character is in the DC universe's fabric. With appearances stretching across an impressive 63 years and three collector-recognized key issues to their name, Tin is far more than a curiosity; they're a genuine piece of living comics history. Whether turning up in The Brave and the Bold or the critically celebrated Wednesday Comics, Tin rewards any fan willing to dig in.
