Silver Age: The Brave and the Bold #1

Jul 2000 · DC · 2.50 USD; 3.95 CAD
“The Great Gotham Switcheroo!”

In "The Great Gotham Switcheroo!", the Penguin, masquerading as Batman, manipulates the Metal Men into attacking Green Arrow and Black Canary—now trapped in the bodies of Felix Faust and Catwoman—before his stolen identity begins to unravel. Written by Bob Haney and Mark Waid, with bold artwork by Kevin Maguire and inks by Mark Farmer, this 2000 DC adventure blends classic rogues' gallery chaos with a body-swap twist. The cover by Jim Aparo and Bill Sienkiewicz captures the high-stakes confusion in vivid, dynamic style.

Penguin, in the body of Batman, urges Doc Magnus and his Metal Men to obliterate Green Arrow and Black Canary, in the bodies of Felix Faust and Catwoman respectively. In the form of a multi-metallic tank, the Metal Men try to shoot them down but Green Arrow uses the powers of Faust to fly Black Canary and him to safety. Penguin seems to be losing his Batman form and turning back into his normal self.
