About this Collection

Bizarro Comics is a 2003 DC collection that reprints the first six issues of the anthology series of the same name. The volume features a wide array of DC characters—from Superman and Batman to obscure Silver Age figures—all reimagined through the distorted, backward logic of Bizarro World. The stories were produced by a mix of indie and mainstream creators, offering a deliberately off-kilter, humorous take on the DC Universe that stands apart from standard superhero fare.

In "Bizarre Wars - Part One," Mr. Mxyzptlk enlists Bizarro as his unlikely champion when the Fifth Dimension faces an unknown threat. With a mix of surreal humor and heartfelt determination, Bizarro sets out to defend reality—by making comic books. Written by Chris Duffy and illustrated by Stephen DeStefano, Gregory Benton, John Kerschbaum, Gilbert Hernandez, and Bob Fingerman, with inks by Marie Severin, Gregory Benton, and others, and colors by Marie Severin, Tom McCraw, and Digital Chameleon, this 2003 DC comic features a cover by Matt Groening.
