Michael Esposito was born on July 14, 1927, and passed away on October 24, 2010. Working primarily as an inker across a career stretching from the 1950s into the 2000s, he produced work for DC Comics, Marvel Comics, and other publishers under his own name and several pseudonyms — among them Mickey Demeo, Mickey Dee, Michael Dee, and Joe Gaudioso.

His most enduring professional partnership was with Ross Andru, a childhood friend with whom he collaborated on marquee titles including *The Amazing Spider-Man* and *Wonder Woman*. Their shared draftsmanship on Wonder Woman achieved a lasting cultural distinction when one of their drawings of the character was reproduced on a U.S. postage stamp in 2006. In the catalog record, Esposito's credited work spans titles across multiple markets, including *Marvel Tales*, *Spider-Man Comics Weekly*, and various international editions of Marvel series.

His contributions to the medium earned him induction into the Will Eisner Comic Book Hall of Fame in 2007, one of the field's highest honors. Esposito's decades of output reflect the collaborative, craft-driven nature of mainstream American comics production, where a skilled inker's ability to complement and clarify a penciller's vision was essential to the finished work's visual identity.
