Soon, he uncovers a sinister operation run by the mysterious Dr. Winkler, who uses mind control to manipulate his victims. Written by Stan Lee and brought to life by Johnny Romita and Don Heck’s dynamic art, with inks by Mickey Demeo and letters by Artie Simek, this 1968 issue blends suspense and drama with a classic Spider-Man twist. The cover, by John Romita, captures the tension with a striking image of Peter in his suit, eyes wide, as Mary Jane stands in shadow.
