Kev Walker
1965–
Kev Walker is a British comics artist and illustrator based in Leeds, England, born in 1965. He built his early career working extensively on 2000 AD, the influential British anthology that has long served as a proving ground for homegrown talent, and also contributed to Warhammer comics, developing a detailed, atmospheric visual style well suited to science fiction and darker genre material.
Walker later expanded his reach into the collectible card game market, producing work for Magic: The Gathering, before making the transition to American mainstream superhero publishing with Marvel Comics. There his output has been substantial — spanning more than 160 credited issues across nearly three decades of active work. His Marvel bibliography ranges widely, taking in team books such as Guardians of the Galaxy and Avengers Arena, the morally complex Thunderbolts, the fan-favorite Star Wars series Doctor Aphra, and the horror-inflected Marvel Zombies 4. Across these titles he has worked as artist, inker, colorist, and occasionally writer, demonstrating unusual versatility.
Walker's ability to move fluidly between British genre comics, fantasy card art, and American superhero narratives speaks to a durable adaptability, and his ongoing activity through 2026 confirms a career that has remained productive well into its fourth decade.
