Savage Avengers #17

Tied into the King in Black event, this 2021 Marvel series delivers a cover by Valerio Giangiordano that puts Conan the Barbarian and Deadpool back-to-back, weapons raised, as they're completely surrounded by a sea of dark-clad armed enemies closing in from every direction. There's a grim, outnumbered tension to the image that makes it feel like the odds couldn't possibly be worse — which, for these two, probably just makes it more appealing. Gerry Duggan, Kev Walker, and Java Tartaglia bring their distinct brand of brutal, irreverent action to chapter seventeen of this unlikely pairing.
