Amazing Spider-Man #9
This Panini UK issue sits at an important narrative crossroads in Nick Spencer's celebrated Fresh Start run on Amazing Spider-Man — it collects the conclusion of the 'Behind the Scenes' arc (ASM 2018 #28) and the standalone issue #29, which together pivot the series from the sprawling 'Hunted' event into the prelude of 'Absolute Carnage'. Issue #29, collected here, is particularly notable as one of the most character-driven single issues of Spencer's run: it refocuses the series on the Peter Parker–Mary Jane Watson relationship and delivers the reintroduction of Teresa Parker as an active player in the Chameleon conspiracy thread that would pay off much later in Spencer's tenure. For UK readers without access to the direct-market American editions, this Panini format served as their primary access point to Spencer's run in serialised form.

Panini UK launched this distinct Amazing Spider-Man monthly reprint series in March 2021 under editor Brady Webb, separate from their long-running Astonishing Spider-Man title, to bring Nick Spencer's 2018 Marvel Fresh Start run to British audiences in affordable, saddle-stitched 48-page instalments. The source material — ASM (2018) #28 and #29 — was originally published by Marvel in August and September 2019 respectively, with #28 drawn by Kevin Walker (with Francesco Manna) and #29 drawn solely by Manna, whose reviewers noted a visual continuity with series regular Ryan Ottley's style. The Panini UK series carried on reprinting Spencer's run sequentially issue by issue through to its conclusion, making this issue #9 a mid-run chapter in that serialisation project.
